Track & Field heads to SEC Indoor meet with top-ranked competition
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 19/17 Texas Track & Field opens postseason competition Thursday, Feb. 26, at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships in College Station.
The field includes 12 men's teams and nine women's teams ranked in the USTFCCCA Top 25. Arkansas leads the conference and sits atop the men's rankings at No. 1 nationally, while Georgia is the highest-ranked women's program in the SEC at No. 2 in the poll.

NOTES:
• Kendrick Smallwood holds the program record in the 60-meter hurdles and ranks No. 3 nationally and in the SEC this season with a time of 7.50. He owns six of the seven fastest times in school history, including the top four.
• Kelsey Daniel ranks No. 3 nationally in the long jump with a mark of 8.14m (26-8.50) and No. 4 in the triple jump at 16.50m (54-1.75). He is No. 2 in the SEC in both events. His long jump mark is tied with Marquise Goodwin for second in program history, while his triple jump ranks eighth on the UT all-time performer list.
• Michael Piñones ranks No. 12 nationally in the shot put and fifth in the SEC with a throw of 19.57m (64-2.5), ranking eighth in program history.
• Freshman Jonathan Hertwig-Ødegaard ranks No. 12 nationally in the heptathlon after scoring 5,788 points at the Razorback Invitational, the second-best mark in the SEC this season.
• Giavonna Meeks ranks No. 2 nationally and leads the SEC in the weight throw with a mark of 24.49m (80-4.25). She owns the top 15 throws in program history. The mark ranks No. 7 on the NCAA all-time performer list and is the 18th-best in collegiate history.
• The women's 4x400-meter relay of Amelliah Birdow, Elise Cooper, Bayleigh Minor and Anouk Krause-Jentsch ranks No. 8 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC with a time of 3:28.97, the 12th-fastest in program history.
• Cooper also ranks No. 10 nationally and fifth in the SEC in the 200 meters (22.96), while Carleta Bernard sits No. 12 nationally and sixth in the SEC in the 60 meters (7.21).
• Jeanne Le Goff ranks No. 14 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC in the triple jump with a mark of 13.32m (43-8.50).
• Tabea Eitel ranks No. 12 nationally in the pentathlon with a season-best 4,172 points, the third-highest total in the SEC this year.
• Sophie Atkinson broke the 39-year-old program record in the women's 3,000 meters at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, clocking 9:07.93 and trimming more than 3.5 seconds off the previous mark.
