No. 5 Women’s Golf climbs to fourth place at NCAA Championship

Farah O’Keefe fired a 4-under 68 and is T1 at 10-under-par on the individual leaderboard.
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Selina Liao highlighted the Texas women's golf third round with a 5-under 67 and the Longhorns had the second best round in the field on day three of the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa on Saturday.
The Longhorns carded a team score of 8-under-par to move from eighth place to fourth place on the team leaderboard. Selina Liao and Farah O'Keefe combined to shoot 9-under-par for Texas. The Longhorns are 6-under-par for the tournament.
"We still have a lot of golf to play and there are a lot of really good teams out there," Texas head coach Laura Ianello said. "We have to keep focusing on the moment. We will fine-tune a couple things going into tomorrow, but it's the same mindset. There are going to be moments of joy and moments of adversity and we have talked about handling that well."
Liao made an eagle on the par-4, 4th hole to go along with four birdies. Liao had a stretch on the front nine where she made birdie-eagle-birdie on holes 3-5.
O'Keefe carded a 4-under 68 and has rounds of 69-69-68 thus far in the NCAA Championship for a score of 10-under. O'Keefe is tied with Catherine Park of Southern California on the individual leaderboard.
Angela Heo birdied 15, 16, 17 and shot even-par on the day. Cindy Hsu birdied hole 16 and shot a 1-over 73. Lauren Kim finished strong with birdies on holes 16 and 17.
The Longhorns will tee off tomorrow at 1:25 p.m. CT in the final round of stroke play and be paired with Iowa State and Arkansas. The top eight teams after stroke play will qualify for match play. Coverage on Golf Channel will start at 4:30 p.m. CT tomorrow.
The Lineup
Farah O'Keefe is tied for the lead going into the fourth and final round of stroke play. O'Keefe was T1 after 36 holes and maintained that position with a 4-under 68 in round three. O'Keefe has made 14 birdies in the tournament and is 5-under on par five scoring and 44-under on par five scoring on the season.
Cindy Hsu made a pair of birdies on holes 4 and 16 and carded a round of 1-over 73. Hsu is 1-over for the tournament.
Selina Liao moved up over 60 spots on the individual leaderboard with her collegiate best round of 5-under 67 on Saturday. Liao went 4-under on holes 3-5 with two birdies and an eagle.
Angela Heo made five birdies for the third round including a stretch of three straight on holes 15-17. Heo carded a round of even par in the third round.
Lauren Kim finished strong in her third round with birdies on holes 16 and 17. Kim carded a round of 5-over 77.
