AUSTIN, Texas – No. 18/18 Texas Track & Field resumes outdoor postseason competition on Wednesday, May 27 at the 2026 NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville, Ark. Texas has 35 student-athletes competing for spots at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

- Kody Blackwood ranks No. 2 nationally in the 400-meter hurdles following his SEC title-winning and facility-record performance of 48.26 at the SEC Outdoor Championships. The mark tied the SEC Championship meet record and moved him to No. 2 on the Texas all-time performer list with the third-fastest time in program history. Blackwood also ranks No. 20 nationally in the 400 meters at 45.24, making him the fourth-fastest performer in Texas history.
- Kendrick Smallwood ranks No. 4 nationally in the 110-meter hurdles after breaking his own Texas school record with a silver-medal time of 13.12 at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Smallwood now owns the top 15 performances in program history.
- Amelliah Birdow ranks No. 3 nationally in the 400-meter hurdles following her bronze-medal finish and personal-best 54.79 at the SEC Outdoor Championships. The performance moved Birdow to No. 3 on the Texas all-time performer list and ranks as the ninth-fastest time in program history.
- Also among the nation's top performers in the women's 400-meter hurdles are Mackenzie Collins at No. 11 nationally and Anouk Krause-Jentsch at No. 14.
- In the women's 100 meters, Abigail Wolfe ranks No. 5 nationally with a time of 11.01, while Carleta Bernard sits No. 10 nationally at 11.04.
- Texas has both women's relay squads ranked ninth nationally. The 4x100-meter relay team of Bernard, Elise Cooper, Wolfe and Naomi London ranks among the nation's top sprint relay groups, while the 4x400-meter relay quartet of Birdow, Cooper, Ramiah Elliott and Bayleigh Minor also sits inside the national top 10.
- Texas also boasts a pair of nationally ranked athletes in the women's 400 meters, led by Minor at No. 13 nationally with a season-best 51.22. Cooper follows closely at No. 14 nationally with a time of 51.24.
- Michael Pinones ranks No. 8 nationally in the shot put after recording a season-best throw of 19.79m (64-11.25) at the Texas Invitational. Pinones placed fourth at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
- Giavonna Meeks ranks No. 11 nationally in the hammer throw after placing second at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a Texas program-record mark of 68.23m (223-10). All six of her throws during the competition ranked among the top eight performances in school history, and she now owns the top 19 throws in Texas history.
- Kelsey Daniel ranks No. 7 nationally in the triple jump after earning silver at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a personal-best 16.64m (54-7.25). The mark moved him to No. 4 on the Texas all-time performer list and ranks as the eighth-best performance in school history. Daniel also ranks No. 17 nationally in the long jump.
- Chris Brinkley Jr. ranks No. 21 nationally in the 400-meter hurdles after scoring for Texas with an eighth-place finish at the SEC Outdoor Championships, while Jayden Jones ranks among the conference leaders in the 200 meters at 20.40.
- Tabea Eitel ranks No. 16 nationally in the heptathlon after scoring 5,648 points at the Texas Relays as the top collegiate finisher. The total ranks third in Texas history.
- Jeanne Le Goff strengthened her standing as the No. 8 performer in Texas history after placing fourth in the triple jump at the SEC Outdoor Championships with an outdoor personal-best mark of 13.22m (43-4.50).
- In the men's pole vault, Sam Abati matched his personal-best clearance of 5.50m (18-0.50) to place fifth at the SEC Outdoor Championships. The mark ties him as the No. 8 performer in program history.
- A trio of Longhorns are set to compete in the women's 1,500 meters. Isabel Conde de Frankenberg placed fifth at the SEC Championships in 4:12.97, recording the fourth-fastest performance in Texas history, while Perez finished seventh in 4:14.18 to move to No. 3 on the Texas all-time performer list with the sixth-fastest performance in program history. Elizabeth Pickett also advanced to the event final after running a personal-best 4:18.33 in the prelims.
- Sophie Atkinson placing seventh in the 10,000 meters at the SEC Outdoor Championships in 33:42.19 and eighth in the 5,000 meters in 16:03.64. Her 10,000-meter performance ranks as the 10th-fastest in Texas history.
- Hudson Bennett placed sixth in the men's 3,000m steeplechase at the SEC Championships with a 12-second personal best of 8:37.71, moving to No. 8 on the Texas all-time performer list.
- The men's 4x400-meter relay quartet of Waly Bathily, Kody Blackwood, Sihle Mahlangu and Logan Popelka ranks No. 16 nationally after running a season-best 3:04.00 at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
- Texas also owns the No. 22 national ranking in the men's 4x100-meter relay. The quartet of Kendrick Smallwood, Neo Modibe, Jayden Jones and John Rutledge posted a season-best 39.10 earlier this season.
