Duo becomes ninth pair of Longhorns to make prestigious club
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas standouts Luke Harrison and Anthony Pack Jr. earned spots on the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, as announced by the organization Sunday afternoon.
USA Baseball's final 28-man roster will compete in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship at Taichung City Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan, from July 11-15. The roster was named after 11 days of workouts, practices and intrasquad scrimmages across North Carolina and Virginia.
With Harrison and Pack Jr.'s selections, the Longhorns have now had 34 players make the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. The duo is the ninth pair of Texas teammates to garner the prestigious honor in the same year.
Over USA Baseball's eight exhibition contests, Harrison registered a team-best 10 strikeouts. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound southpaw did not allow a run in 4 1/3 innings. Harrison yielded just two hits, holding opponents to a .133 average.
Meanwhile, Pack Jr. paced the squad in triples (1), RBI (5) and total bases (10), while tying for the club lead in home runs (1) and stolen bases (4). The 5-foot-10, 190-pound outfielder also ranked second in slugging (.500) and tied for second in hits (5) and walks (4).
