He was a second-team All-SEC selection and PING All-Central Region Team choice as a sophomore in 2026. Bennett played in 12 of UT's 14 events last season and posted a 70.46 stroke average through 37 rounds while recording a pair of runner-up efforts and four top-eight individual finishes. Twenty-four of his 37 rounds last year were par or better, including 15 in the 60s. Bennett competed for the winning Team International squad at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup earlier this summer (July 3-5) in Ireland, marking the second straight summer that he has played on the winning team at the Arnold Palmer Cup. He also advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2026 Western Amateur.
Comegys is No. 67 in the latest World Amateur Golf Ranking (Aug. 26). He was the SEC Newcomer of the Year and recognized as a NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-American Scholar as a senior in 2026. Comegys played in each of UT's 14 events last season and posted a 71.00 stroke average through 43 rounds while recording two top-three and seven top-20 individual performances. Twenty-nine of his 43 rounds were par or better, including 16 in the 60s. Comegys registered a career-best tie for second at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational (Sept. 19-21) with a 5-under 205 (69-69-68) and tied for third at The Ford Collegiate (April 13-14) with an 11-under 199 (64-67-68).
The upcoming 2026-27 season marks the 100th year in program history for Texas Men's Golf. The Longhorns open the season at the Folds of Honor Collegiate on Sept. 7-9 (Monday-Wednesday) in Grand Haven, Mich.
