2006 Season
• Redshirted.
• Played for the Plano Blue Sox of the Texas Collegiate League under the direction of head coach Mike Maack.
• Appeared in 42 games for the Blue Sox, logging 15 runs, five doubles and 11 RBI.
BEFORE TEXAS
• Lettered as a utility player for head coach Mark Marquess at Stanford during the 2005 season and helped the club post a 34-win campaign.
• Played in six games for the Cardinal while making one start and batting .250 overall with one run scored and a pair of RBI to his credit.
• Drove in his first career run with his first collegiate hit, which came during the second game of a doubleheader against Kansas (2/12) where he made his Stanford debut as a pinch-hitter.
HIGH SCHOOL
• A three-year letterwinner and two-time team MVP (2003-04) in baseball for head coach Kevin Williamson at Jesuit College Prep, who also played on the basketball squad during both his freshman and sophomore years.
• Named the Rangers' 2002 Newcomer of the Year after batting .362 with five doubles, three home runs, 23 RBI and a .565 slugging percentage.
• Tabbed a Texas Private Sports first-team all-state performer as a junior after batting .367 with eight doubles, three home runs and 32 RBI.
• Selected as a the 2003 Jesuit Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for being the most outstanding athlete of the junior class.
• Led the Rangers to the 2004 District 7-5A regional quarterfinals in the first year that private schools were allowed to compete with public schools for the state title as a senior in 2004.
• Batted a career-best .465 with 12 doubles, seven home runs and 30 RBI in his final year en route to garnering all-state honorable mention as well as first-team all-district accolades.
• Named a finalist for the 2004 Jesuit Athlete of the Year Award, chosen as one of the Top 15 Players in the Area to Watch by the Dallas Morning News as a senior and finished second in the selection process for the 2004 Metro-Dallas Davey O'Brien Scholar-Athlete Award for athletic and academic excellence.
• Chosen by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association to play for Team Texas during the 2004 Sunbelt Classic and helped the club place third at the tournament.
• Graduated as the valedictorian of his class after being tabbed a three-time Math/Science Scholar (2002-04).
• Aided the Rangers' basketball team in compiling a 59-4 record over his two seasons (26-1 in 2000-01 and 33-3 in 2001-02).
• Played for the Dallas Panthers during the summers of 2003 and 2004 after being a member of the Dallas Mustangs in the summer of 2002 and competing at the Super Regional Series in East Cobb, Ga.
