OUTDOOR: 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
INDOOR: Earned USTFCCCA All-America honors as an NCAA qualifier in the mile … won three Big 12 championships, making her the first Longhorn – alongside Julien Alfred and Brooke Jaworski as well – to win three indoor conference titles in the same season since Marshevet Hooker in 2006 … won the 800m title by clocking 2:06.33, a personal-best time and the ninth-fastest mark in school history … her 800m effort solidified her as the fourth-best indoor 800m performer in school history … won the mile by running a 4:36.89, the second-fastest time in UT history behind only her school-record mark set earlier in the season … ran the opening leg of UT’s title-winning DMR team that clocked 11:24.53 in the event … was part of the Longhorns’ school-record DMR team that ran the race in 11:04.31 at the Razorback Invitational in late January … shattered the school’s indoor mile record by four-and-a-half seconds one week prior, clocking 4:34.64 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston … also was part of the UT’s 4x800m team that weekend, which posted the fifth-fastest performance in school history (8:46.16) … ran the 3,000m in 9:54.52, placing third, in her indoor debut as a Longhorn at the Leonard Hilton Invitational on Jan. 17.
CROSS COUNTRY: Earned All-Big 12 honors for finishing fourth at the conference meet … competed seven times, posting five top-15 finishes throughout the season … debuted as a Longhorn at the Bear Twilight in Waco, Texas on Aug. 30, finishing second behind teammate Destiny Collins in the standings … clocked a personal-best 13:24.9 on the 4K course … took home second place again two weeks later at the Texas Invitational, running the 5K course in 17:46.7 … recorded her best 6K mark (20:34.2) at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, marking her first time as Texas’ top finisher … was named the Big 12 runner of the week after her efforts in Eugene, Ore. … followed it up with her best 5K time – a 16:58.8 mark – and a 12th-place finish at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival … Placed ninth overall at the NCAA South Central Regional to help the Longhorns earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships … closed out her season with a 21:36.9 on the NCAA Championships’ 6K course in Terre Haute, Ind.
PRIOR TO TEXAS: Competed at Harvard for two seasons prior to transferring to Texas … earned first-team All-Ivy in the 800m and second-team All-Ivy in the DMR during the 2018 indoor season … also earned second-team All-Ivy honors for her performance in the 1,500m outdoors … competed with Harvard’s cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field programs … ran a personal-best 4:42.52 mile at the 2019 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational … placed second in the 1,000m at the 2019 Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships.
PERSONAL: Daughter of the George and Amanda Gillespie … has three brothers – Michael, Matthew and Anthony – and one sister – Mairi … majoring in health behavior and education.
