Rain suspends second round at Baylor Intercollegiate

DALLAS -- Texas (#4 Golfstat) finished its first round in its entirety but could only finish a few holes in round two on Monday, as rain suspended play at the 12-team Baylor Intercollegiate at the par 71, 7,068-yard Royal Oaks Country Club.
With most of its second round to be completed on Tuesday, Texas ended the day in fourth place at 13-over par. UT shot a 13-over 297 in Monday's morning round and stood at even-par early on in round two, which will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Central.
Iowa leads the event at 5-over par, and Texas A&M sits one shot back at 6-over. New Mexico holds third place at 10-over par. Iowa's Vince India, Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen and Texas A&M's Cameron Peck are tied for the individual lead at 1-under par. Each player completed six holes in the second round.
Sophomore Dylan Frittelli (Pretoria, South Africa) continued his solid play of late with a 1-over 72 in round one, and he stood at 1-over par through five holes in round two. Frittelli is tied for ninth place at 2-over for the tournament. Sophomore Alex Moon (Plano, Texas) carded a 5-over 76 in round one and stood at 2-under par through the opening nine holes in round two. Moon is tied for 18th place at 3-over par.
Junior Donald Constable (Wayzata, Minn.) carded a 3-over 74 in round one and stood at even par through the first six holes in round two. Constable is tied for 18th place at 3-over par. Freshman Cody Gribble (Dallas, Texas) fired a 4-over 75 in round one and was at 1-over par through five holes in round two. Gribble is tied for 28th place at 5-over par.
Sophomore Steffan Schmieding (Austin, Texas) shot a 14-over 85 in round one and stood at 1-over par through three holes in round two. Schmieding is tied for 65th place at 15-over par. Playing as an individual in his first career varsity start, freshman Johnathan Schnitzer (Houston, Texas) shot a 9-over 80 in round one and stood at 4-over par in round two. Schnitzer is tied for 61st place at 12-over par.
