Men's Golf moves up in round two of Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship

LAS VEGAS -- Texas sophomore Bobby Hudson fired a one-under 71 to pace the Longhorns in a solid second round Saturday afternoon at the 15-team Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship at the par 72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club.
UT shaved 19 strokes off of its opening round and finished round two with a five-over 293, good for the sixth-lowest round of the day. Texas moved up one spot to 14th place and heads into Sunday's final round with a 29-over 605 for the tournament. Oklahoma State leads the event at 15-under par, and the Cowboys' Morgan Hoffmann leads individually at 10-under par.
Hudson shaved five strokes off of his opening round and scattered four birdies to end the second round with his one-under 71. At three-over for the tournament, Hudson is tied for 24th place heading into the final day. Classmate Donald Constable finished with a two-over 74 on Saturday and is tied for 41st place at six-over par.
Junior All-American Charlie Holland lowered his opening round by four strokes and ended the day with a two-over 74. Holland is tied for 51st place at eight-over par. Freshman Dylan Frittelli took eight strokes off of his first round and was one of four Longhorns to finish with a two-over 74 in round two. Frittelli is tied for 65th place alongside UT junior Lance Lopez, who also stroked a two-over 74 in the second round.
Texas tees off in Sunday's final round at 12:42 p.m. Central.
