Men's Golf sits in sixth heading into final round of National Invitational Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Texas sophomore Bobby Hudson shot matching one-under par rounds to lead the Longhorns through 36 holes Sunday evening at the National Invitational Tournament at the par 72, 7,200-yard Tucson National Golf Club.
Texas shot a six-under 282 in Sunday's first round before stroking a five-over 293 in Sunday's second round to end the day in sixth place at one-under par for the tournament. New Mexico leads heading into the final 18 holes at 16-under par, and the Lobos' Nick Geyer and Arizona's Philip Bagdade share the individual lead at seven-under par through 36 holes.
The Longhorns opened day one by carding a collective six-under 282 in round one to end the opening round in second place. Junior Lance Lopez led the Horns in round one with a three-under 69, while sophomore Donald Constable added a two-under 70. Sophomore Bobby Hudson added a two-under 7, and junior Charlie Holland and freshman Dylan Frittelli chipped in a pair of even-par scores of 72.
Texas dropped off to a five-over 293 in round two. Hudson equaled his opening round one-under 71 in round two, and Holland matched his first-round even-par 72 in the second round. Lopez carded a two-over 74 in round two, and Constable stroked a four-over 76. Frittelli added a four-over 76. Hudson is tied for 10th at two-under for the tournament, and Lopez is tied for 16th at one-under par. Holland sits in a tie for 25th at even par, and Constable is tied for 40th at two-over par. Frittelli is tied for 53rd at four-over par.
Playing as an individual, freshman Adam Wennerstrom shot rounds of 83 and 71 and is in 76th place at 10-over par. Texas tees off in Monday's final round at 10:15 a.m. Central.
