Sophomore Julio Vegas (Maturin, Venezuela) shaved five strokes off of his opening round and carded a three-under 69 with birdies at the sixth, 11th, 12th and 15th holes. POST-ROUND COMMENTS
Texas head coach John Fields
"While we left a few shots out there today, I was really pleased with the way we played. We will be in the hunt (for the team title) tomorrow. Bobby Hudson played really solid golf today with a 67. Julio Vegas was outstanding with his 2-under 69, and with a bit more experience, he will turn rounds like today into even better numbers. With Dylan Frittelli, Cody Gribble and Toni Hakula all carding 71's, we had everyone under par."
