No. 2 Men's Golf finishes third at Stanford Classic

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- The No. 2 Texas Men's Golf team defeated seventh-seeded Stanford 15.5-8.5 in the final round of the Stanford Classic on Tuesday afternoon at Cypress Point Club.
The win secured a third-place finish for the Longhorns. The team won two matches (Michigan, Stanford) and lost one (UCLA) over the two-day tournament
Round three consisted of six matches. Each match was worth four points, one point for winning the front nine, one point for winning the back nine, and two points to the winner of the match. Four of the six Longhorns that competed won their match in the final round.
Texas won four of the matches, with Cody Gribble and Johnathan Schnitzer winning all four points in their matches.
No. 4-seed UCLA defeated No. 6-seed Duke 18-6 in the championship match after defeating Texas 6.5-5.5 in round two.
