Men’s Golf’s Scheffler advances to the weekend at U.S. Open

Scottie Scheffler followed a 69 with a 74 to sit 1-under par after two rounds at Erin Hills.
ERIN, Wis. – Texas Men's Golf senior Scottie Scheffler followed a first-round 69 with a second-round 74 to advance to the weekend at the U.S. Open on Friday.
Scheffler is 1-under par in a tie for 33rd going into the third round at Erin Hills.
He made a double bogey on 11 and a bogey on 15 to start his round on the back nine, but made back-to-back birdies on holes one and two, before making another bogey on three. He closed the round with six-straight pars to finish the round 2-over par.
He will join Longhorns Brandon Stone and Jordan Spieth, who are tied for 43rd at even par in the field.
