Three from Men’s Golf named PING All-America

Doug Ghim, Scottie Scheffler, and Gavin Hall join a list of 51 total All-Americans in Texas Men’s Golf history.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Golf's Doug Ghim, Scottie Scheffler, and Gavin Hall all landed on the 2017 PING Division I All-America list, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday.
Ghim earned second team honors, Scheffler third team, and Hall honorable mention accolades.
The honor marks Ghim's third PING All-America honor in his three years at Texas after earning second team honors in 2016 and honorable mention in 2015. He was also named 2017 Big 12 Player of the Year, 2017 Golfweek All-America First Team, and 2017 PING All-Region after closing his junior campaign with a 71.10 stroke average and posting seven top-10 finishes.
Scheffler earns his second All-America honor after being named to the second team in 2015. He was named to the 2017 Golfweek All-America First Team, 2017 All-Big 12, and 2017 PING All-Region for his junior year, finishing with a 71.00 stroke average and six top-three tournament finishes.
Hall's honor marks his third after earning second team accolades in 2016 and honorable mention in 2015. He was also named to the 2017 PING All-Region team and was a 2017 Academic All-Big 12 selection. Hall closed his senior season with a 71.63 stroke average, finishing in the top-11 seven times in 13 events.
The three players join a list of 51 All-Americans in Texas' rich history with 92 honors. Under Texas Head Coach John Fields, the Longhorns have seen 21 All-Americans with 38 total honors.
