No. 6 Men’s Golf climbs two spots after day two at OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite

Sophomore Nick Costello shot under par to lead the Longhorns during the second round.
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – No. 6 Texas Men's Golf shot 3-over par to climb two spots into 11th after the second round at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore Nick Costello led the Longhorns on the second day, shooting a 1-under 69 with five birdies.
Freshman Kristoffer Reitan and junior Steven Chervony both shot 3-over 143 and tied for 24th.
The duo both turned in 71s for the day, with Chervony gathering three birdies, 11 pars, and four bogeys. Reitan made four bogeys in his first 12 holes before firing three-straight birdies to finish 1-over par.
Senior Scottie Scheffler shot a 72 while sophomore Spencer Soosman shot a75.
Alabama's Davis Riley finished the day at the top of the leaderboard at 7-under par to lead the Crimson Tide to the top spot at even par.
Texas will play the third and final round on Sunday, September 17th, teeing off at 8:15 a.m. CT.
