- The Longhorns will be facing off against Grambling and playing a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) for the first time in program history.
- Due to graduation attrition and injuries, Texas has been forced to lean on a myriad of young players to fill out the starting XI so far in 2019. In all, 42-of-88 possible starts (48%) have gone to freshmen and sophomores. Including juniors, EIGHT Longhorns players have also earned their first starts in the Burnt Orange & White this year (midfielders Kailey Smith & Carlee Allen; forwards Sydney Nobles & Teni Akindoju; defenders Maddie Dorsett, Cameron Brooks & Peyton McGee; goalkeeper Savannah Madden).
- The injury bug continues to take a bite out of the Longhorns as senior forward Cyera Hintzen has missed the last two matches for precautionary reasons following a clash of heads/collision on Sept. 13 against Washington. Texas has or is still missing numerous expected major contributors from all over the pitch. Included among the list who've missed time with injury in the early season are: redshirt junior forward Cydney Billups (missed first five matches), senior defender Emma Jett (missed first two matches and was limited over the next two), junior midfielder Emily Strouphauer (still rehabbing an ACL injury) and redshirt junior forward Tecora Turner (missed two matches against Washington & Monmouth).
- Texas holds a 21-20-3 overall record in matches following a loss (that total doesn't carry over losses from end of a season to the next) under the guidance of head coach Angela Kelly. UT is 1-2 after defeats so far during the 2019 campaign.
- Whichever team hits the two-goal mark in a contest seems to be a key to victory in 2019 as the Longhorns are a perfect 4-0 when scoring at least twice in a match, while their opposition is 3-1.
- Junior midfielder Haley Berg has been riding quite the hot streak lately having SCORED FOUR GOALS OVER TEXAS' LAST FIVE MATCHES. She recently tied for the sixth-longest goal-scoring streak in school history by ticking the twine in three straight contests from Sept. 6-13.
- Texas' 2-0 win over Washington marked the 150th victory in Mike A. Myers Stadium history. The Longhorns now boast a 150-47-20 (.737) all-time home record.
- Junior midfielder Haley Berg and senior forward Cyera Hintzen are each off to "helpful" starts to the 2019 campaign. The duo has four assists apiece over the opening eight matches (already tied for Berg's career high from 2017) and are tied for the fifth in the Big 12 in assists. Each needs just five more assists to enter the Longhorns single-season top 10 list where they would tie five players (one of them Hintzen) for sixth. The all-time Texas record for assists is 14 set by Kelly Wilson back in 2004.
- With her 81st-minute goal during the 4-3 season-opening win over Gonzaga (Aug. 22), senior forward Cyera Hintzen registered her 10th career match-winning score. The Garland, Texas, native now owns 10 match-winners over her 24 career goals, meaning that 42% of the time she's scored, it has been to win a contest.
