THE OPENING KICKOFF
• The University of Texas continues its 127th season of football on Saturday when the Longhorns square off with West Virginia at Milan Puskar Stadium.
• Texas currently boasts 911 all-time wins, the third-most in college football history. UT holds an all-time record of 911-371-33 (.705).
• The Longhorns are coming off a 36-30 win over Oklahoma State in UT's Big 12 opener. The victory snapped a four-game skid against the Cowboys and pushed Texas' record to 19-5 (.792) all-time in Big 12 openers.
• Texas is 18-5 (.783) all-time in Big 12 road openers. The Longhorns have won both of their conference road openers under Tom Herman, defeating Iowa State in 2017 and Kansas State last season.
• Saturday's contest will mark UT's fourth all-time appearance in Morgantown. The Horns are 2-1 in their three visits to the Mountain State, all of which have come since West Virginia joined the league in 2012.
• Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay and Molly McGrath will be on the call Saturday for ABC.
• West Virginia enters this weekend with a 3-1 record (1-0 Big 12) and is coming off a 29-24 victory over Kansas on Sept. 21. Both WVU and UT are coming off bye weeks.
• The Mountaineers are led by first-year head coach Neal Brown, who won 35 games in four seasons as the head coach at Troy prior to taking the job in Morgantown.
• Saturday will mark UT's first game played outside of the state of Texas this season. Overall, 10 of Texas' 12 regular-season games will be contested inside the state of Texas. The Horns will only leave the Lone Star State again to face Iowa State (Nov. 16).
• The Longhorns are scheduled to play 10 Power Five Conference opponents during the 2019 regular season. UT was the only program in college football to play 11 Power Five Conference opponents in each regular season from 2015-18.
• Eight of UT's 2019 opponents played in a bowl game in 2018, with five of those teams winning their postseason matchups.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
• Saturday's game marks the ninth all-time meeting between the Big 12 Conference foes.
• Texas trails West Virginia, 5-3, in the all-time series and is 3-4 against WVU since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 prior to the 2012 season.
• The Longhorns are 2-1 all-time against West Virginia when playing in Morgantown. The Horns picked up a 47-40 overtime win in 2013 and a 28-14 win in 2017 during their last visit to the Mountain State.
• Texas went 1-1 against West Virginia during Tom Herman's first two season as head coach.
A TEXAS WIN WOULD...
• Be Texas' 912th victory all-time, keeping UT as the third-winningest program in college football history.

• Make Texas 3-1 at Milan Puskar Stadium since West Virginia joined the Big 12 Conference.
• Improve Texas' record to 19-5 all-time in Big 12 road openers, and 3-0 during Tom Herman's tenure at Texas.
• Mark the Longhorns' ninth win in their last 11 Big 12 games since the start of the 2018 conference slate.
• Improve Texas to 7-2 in road games against Big 12 opponents since the start of the 2017 season. The Horns have posted a 3-1 mark in each of Tom Herman's first two seasons as head coach.

• Including the 2019 season, Herman has spent 16 of his 22 seasons as a coach in the state of Texas on the collegiate level.
• Herman graduated from Cal Lutheran and received his master's degree in education from The University of Texas.
• He owns a career mark of 12-7 against Top 25 opponents, 5-5 against Top 10 foes and 3-2 versus teams in the Top 5.
