Baseball’s freshman class ranked No. 10 by Baseball America

This is the second-consecutive top-10 recruiting class for the Longhorns.
AUSTIN, Texas – For the second-consecutive season, Texas Baseball's recruiting class has received a top-10 ranking by Baseball America, checking in at No. 10 nationally. Last season's Longhorn freshman class was ranked No. 8 by Baseball America.
The 18-man recruiting class consists of three junior college transfers and 15 freshmen. The transfers are infielders Cam Williams (San Jacinto College/Odessa, Fla.) and Murphy Stehly (Orange Coast College/Carlsbad, Calif.) along with right-handed pitcher Dawson Merryman (Midland College/Greenwood, Texas).
In the freshmen class there are three catchers, four right-handed pitchers, five left-handed pitchers, one infielder and two outfielders. The catchers include Silas Ardoin (Sam Houston HS/Lake Charles, La.), Cam Constantine (McKinney North HS/McKinney, Texas), and Peyton Powell (Robinson HS/Robinson, Texas). The class also includes four right-handed pitchers—Andre Duplantier II (Summer Creek HS/Humble, Texas), Trey Faltine (William B Travis HS/Richmond, Texas), Jared Southard (Rouse HS/Leander, Texas), and Will Swope (The Woodlands HS/The Woodlands, Texas)—along with five left-handed pitchers—Jackson Braun (Faith Christian/Grapevine, Texas)Peter Hansen (Oak Ridge HS/El Dorado Hills, Calif.), Chase Lummus (Godley HS/Godley, Texas), Sam Walbridge (Saint Mary's Hall/San Antonio, Texas), and Austin Wallace (Flower Mound HS/Flower Mound, Texas). Infielder Brenden Dixon (Argyle HS/Argyle, Texas) is joined by outfielders Douglas Hodo III (Boerne HS/Boerne, Texas) and Colton Rathjen (Episcopal HS/Houston, Texas). Among the pitchers, Duplantier (infielder), Faltine (utility), Swope (infielder), and Wallace (outfielder) are all two-way players.
