No. 6 Men’s Golf wins NCAA Noblesville Regional

The Longhorns advanced to their 14th consecutive NCAA Championship.
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The No. 6 Texas Men's Golf team registered a 5-under 283 on Wednesday to win the NCAA Noblesville Regional by five strokes at The Sagamore Club. Parker Coody led the Longhorns with a 5-under 67, equaling his season-low round of the year, to finish tied for fifth in the regional at 6-under 210.
Texas concluded Wednesday's final round with a 54-hole score of 20-under-par 844 (282-279-283). No. 7 North Carolina and No. 18 Tennessee tied for second at 15-under-par 849, with the Volunteers shooting rounds of 285-283-281 and the Tar Heels posting scores of 285-284-280. No. 32 finished fourth at 10-under-par 854 (288-282-284), while No. 38 UAB placed fifth with a score of 5-under 859 (296-288-275).
Coody improved with each round of the regional, following a 73 and 70 with a 67, the lowest round of the tournament for the Longhorns. After making par on the first two holes, Coody carded the first of his six birdies on the third hole. The junior would add birdies on the sixth, ninth, 13th, 16th and 18th holes as well as an eagle on the 14th hole.
Travis Vick was the next lowest Longhorn, shooting a 1-under 71 to finish the week tied for seventh at 5-under par. Vick opened his day with birdies on the first two holes and was 2-under par on the front nine. In all, he registered five birdies and four bogies while making par on nine holes.
Pierceson Coody finished ninth in the regional at 4-under, closing out his week with a final round even-par 70. He carded five birdies, including four on the back nine on the 10th, 11th, 14th and 18th holes, while also notching one on the second hole.
Cole Hammer closed out the week tied for 31st at 2-over-par for the week, while Mason Nome finished 5-over in the regional to finish in a tie for 42nd place.
Texas will make their 14th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance and 70th overall at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. From May 28-June 2. Pairings and tee times for the first two rounds of the NCAA Championships will be announced at a later date.
