Rogers competes in 3000m steeplechase on Day Four of U.S. Olympic Trials

Former Longhorn Alex Rogers finished ninth in his 1st Round heat of the 3000m steeplechase.
EUGENE, Ore. – Former University of Texas Track & Field All-American Alex Rogers placed ninth in his 1st Round heat of the 3000m steeplechase at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials on Monday afternoon at Hayward Field.
Competing in his first Olympic Trials, Rogers registered a time of 8:49.36 to place ninth in the second heat of the 3000m steeplechase. Rogers' mark was the 21st-fastest time in the competition.
The Trials will take a two-day break and resume at Hayward Field on Thursday beginning with the women's hammer throw at 3:25 p.m. CT.
