No. 6 Men's Cross Country finishes third at Big 12 Championships, Women place seventh

Devin Hart, Rodger Rivera and Haftu Knight named to All-Big 12 Team.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 6 University of Texas Men's Cross Country team finished third with 70 points at the 2023 Big 12 Championships, while the Texas Women's Cross Country team placed seventh with 221 points.
Devin Hart made it four-straight races as the top finisher for the Longhorns with his fourth-place finish in the 8K with a personal-best time of 22:57.6. It marks the second-straight season Texas has had a top-five finisher at the conference championships, after Isaac Alonzo finished third last year.
Rodger Rivera rounded out the top-10 finishers, finishing 10th with his time of 23:10.6. Rivera knocked off 25 seconds for a personal best in the 8K on Saturday morning. Haftu Knight finished 15th with a time of 23:21.0 – a three-second personal best. Hart, Rivera and Knight were named to the All Big-12 Team after finishing in the top-15 of the race.
Alonzo finished 20th with his time of 23:30.5, and Emmanuel Sgouros finished just behind in 21st at 23:32.8, a 40-second personal best. Nathanael Berhane was 25th (23:39.9), scratching 43 seconds off his previous best. Abraham Avila-Martinez finished 35th at 24:03.3.
Beth Ramos once again led Texas as the top finisher for the women, finishing 26th with her time of 20:37.8. Eva Jess was the next to cross the finish line in 43rd with a time of 21:14.0. Elizabeth Pickett scored 46 points in 55th place with her time of 21:36.7, Allyson Little scored 55 points in 64th (21:51.3), while Maddie Hatfield was next in 22:08.4 and Haley Harper right behind at 22:08.9.
Aishling Callanan was the final scorer for Texas finishing in 22:25.6.
