No. 15 Men’s Golf defeats No. 11 Georgia Tech, 4-1-1

Vick, Maas, Sosa and Morrison all post individual match wins on Friday in Hawaii.
KAMUELA, Hawaii — The No. 15 Texas Men's Golf team claimed a 4-1-1 victory against No. 11 Georgia Tech on Friday at Hapuna Golf Course. The Longhorns received individual match wins from senior Travis Vick and freshmen Christiaan Maas, Jacob Sosa and Tommy Morrison.
The Longhorns and Yellow Jackets were two of 20 teams who originally came to Hawaii to participate in the Amer Ari Invitational on Feb. 8-10. The tournament was canceled on Thursday due to high winds, but official match-play competitions were organized for Texas-Georgia Tech and Texas Tech-North Carolina on Friday.
Maas recorded a 2&1 win over Christo Lamprecht, and Vick posted a 1-up victory against Ross Steelman. Sosa tallied a 1-up win over Connor Howe, and Morrison clinched the overall team victory with a 2&1 win against Ben Reuter. In addition, graduate Brian Stark halved his match with Hiroshi Tai.
The Longhorns return to the course at the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 26-28 (Sunday-Tuesday) in Las Vegas.
