The Longhorns took the series with a 10-4 win over the Jaspers on Saturday afternoon.

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball clinched the series win over Manhattan with a 10-4 win over the Jaspers on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (8-7) will go for their first series sweep of the season on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Peyton Powell finished 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Rylan Galvan went 1-for-4 but finished with a team-high three RBI.

Heston Tole pitched the final three innings to pick up his first career save, striking out seven batters and not allowing a run. Max Grubbs was credited with his first career win in one scoreless inning of relief.

Manhattan opened the game with a run in the top of the first, using back-to-back one-out hits.

Texas then scored three runs on six walks in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead. The Longhorns scored two more runs in the second inning on an RBI double by Powell and an RBI single by Porter Brown to make the score 5-1.

The Jaspers cut into the Longhorns' lead with a run in the third inning to make the score 5-2.

Powell drove in another run in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 6-2. He drove in Dylan Campbell who walked and stole both second and third base.

Manhattan scored two unearned runs in the sixth to trim the Texas lead to 6-4.

Texas got the runs right back in the bottom of the sixth, with Rylan Galvan lining a two-run single up the middle to make the score 8-4.

The Longhorns finished off the game with two more runs in the seventh with a Garret Guillemette RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly by Cam Constantine.
