No. 21 Baseball takes down Texas A&M

The Longhorns extended their winning streak to 15 games with the win over the Aggies.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 21 Texas Baseball took down Texas A&M, 5-2, to extend the team's winning streak to 15 games on Tuesday at Blue Bell Park.
The Longhorns (19-7, 3-0) own the nation's longest active winning streak of 15 games and snapped a four-game losing streak to the Aggies with the win.
Texas had 15 total hits in the game, including nine infield singles. Eric Kennedy went 4-for-6 with two runs scored, while Peyton Powell was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Porter Brown had a double and two RBI.
Lebarron Johnson Jr. started and pitched three innings, allowing one run on two hits and picking up the win. Zane Morehouse closed it out with two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to earn his third save of the season.
Texas opened the scoring with two runs on three hits in the top of the first inning. Peyton Powell and Dylan Campbell both singled before Porter Brown hit a two-out two-run double to the gap in left-center.
The Aggies got a run back in the bottom of the first to trim the Longhorns' lead to 2-1 but Johnson was able to get a strikeout to strand a runner in scoring position.
The Longhorns added a run to the lead in the top of the third to go up 3-1 but had an opportunity for more. The inning started with four-straight singles from Eric Kennedy, Powell, Campbell and Garret Guillemette. After a pitching change, the Longhorns left the bases loaded to end the inning.
Texas A&M scored a run in the sixth off of David Shaw to trim the Texas lead to 3-2.
The Longhorns got a couple of insurance runs in the eighth inning, using two hits and two free passes to take a 5-2 lead. Kennedy and Powell both legged out infield singles, Campbell walked and Guillemette was hit by a pitch to drive in the first run. Brown drove in the second run of the inning with a fielder's choice groundout.
Texas heads on the road for a Big 12 series at No. 17 Oklahoma State this weekend, starting on Friday at 6 p.m.
