No. 21 Baseball wins series over Kansas State

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 21 Texas Baseball took down Kansas State, 8-2, to win the series on Sunday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (23-10, 6-3) scored seven of their eight runs with two outs and outhit the Wildcats 12-6 to bounce back from Saturday's loss.
Dylan Campbell went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and also made an outstanding catch in right field. Guillemette was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in the first inning, while Porter Brown was 2-for-4 with a double and a homer. Jared Thomas had a great day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and one RBI.
Charlie Hurley pitched five innings and allowed just two runs on four hits. He struck out three batters and picked up his third win of the season. DJ Burke was outstanding in relief, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Sam Walbridge recorded the final out of the game to close out the win.
The Wildcats opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first on two singles and a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.
The Longhorns responded in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run by Guillemette off the monster in center field to make the score 2-1.
Texas extended the lead to 4-1 in the second on a two-out two-run double by Eric Kennedy, driving in Tanner Carlson and Thomas.
Kansas State got a run across in the fourth on a solo homer to trim the Longhorns' lead to 4-2.
Texas plated two more two-out runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Campbell. There was an eventful sequence prior to Campbell's double as head coach David Pierce and Kennedy were both ejected from the game.
The Longhorns put two more runs on the board in the fifth to go up 8-2, starting with a solo homer by Brown. With two outs, Thomas hit an RBI double to drive in Carlson from second.
Texas will now travel to San Marcos to take on Texas State on Monday before welcoming the Bobcats to UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
