• Last time out, the Longhorns swept the Stormy Seas Invitational with both the men and women winning the 5K and taking the top-seven spots. The No. 13 men were led by Stanford transfer Devin Hart, who finished the race in 14:51.2. The women were led by two freshmen – Aishling Callanan and Haley Harper.
Who to watch:
• The No. 13 men will be led by Devin Hart, coming off his first Longhorns win. Hart has competed at three NCAA Cross Country Championships, with his best finish occurring last season with a 51st-place performance. Junior Isaac Alonzo also returns to the course after his breakout sophomore season, while Rodger Rivera will make his return to competition after ending his 2022 season at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
• Haftu Knight was the Longhorns top finisher in 2022, crossing the finish line in 23:50.0 minutes and a 24th-place finish.
• On the women's side, Beth Ramos and Eva Jess will make their first appearances of the season. Jess has been the Longhorns most consistent performer in her four seasons on the Forty Acres and returns for her fifth-year to run under new women's distance coach Sarah Smith.
• The junior, Eva Jess, competed in all six races for Texas last season, including the NCAA Championships held on the same course.
