Flores moves into tie for fifth-most career home runs in program history.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In a game that featured eight home runs, No. 1 Texas fell to No. 11 Arkansas, 13-8, Saturday afternoon at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Shortstop Jalin Flores left the yard twice to lead the Longhorns (38-8, 19-5 SEC) at the plate, but the Razorbacks (40-9, 17-7 SEC) responded with five homers of their own to win the series finale.
Flores launched a go-ahead three-run blast in the third before delivering a solo with Texas down to its final two outs.
The junior's opposite-field 361-foot jack in the final frame moved him into a tie for the fifth-most career homers (35) by a Longhorn, matching Kody Clemens (2016-18).
Center fielder Will Gasparino also joined the home run derby, smacking his co-team-best 13th blast of the year. Gasparino's two-run shot put Texas ahead, 7-6.
Despite the Longhorns' fireworks, Arkansas first baseman Reese Robinett stole the show, mounting his first multi-homer effort and a career-high six RBI.
Robinett's two-run rocket in the fourth leveled the score, while his three-run jack in the fifth proved to be the difference.
Designated hitter Kuhio Aloy and outfielders Justin Thomas Jr. and Charles Davalan all left the yard, as the trio combined to drive in seven runs.
Arkansas righty Dylan Carter (5-0) earned the win in relief. Carter tossed 2 2/3 scoreless, scattering one hit and one walk.
Texas right-hander Thomas Burns was charged with the loss after surrendering the eventual game-winning shot to Robinett.
Following their penultimate road series of the regular season, the Longhorns return home to face in-state foe Lamar for their final midweek contest of the year on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
