No. 1 Men’s Swimming and Diving break facility and program records in the 400-medley relay on day four of the 2026 SEC Championships

The Longhorns added four additional medals bringing their team total to 12.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 1 Men's Swimming and Diving secured its 12th podium finish of the competition and sixth gold medal on day four of the 2026 SEC Championships, highlighted by a record-breaking performance in the 400-yard medley relay Thursday evening at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Texas opened the evening session with the 100-yard butterfly, placing three swimmers in the championship final. Kyle Peck led the group with a fifth-place finish in 44.75, followed by Ksawery Masiuk in sixth at 45.02 and Will Modglin in eighth with a 45.42.
The Longhorns claimed their first medals of the evening in the 400-yard IM, as Baylor Nelson earned gold with a time of 3:35.75, shaving nearly four seconds off his prelim mark of 3:39.53. Rex Maurer joined him on the podium with a silver-medal effort of 3:36.74, improving on his prelim time of 3:40.74. Cooper Lucas rounded out the group with a sixth-place finish in 3:40.50.
Camden Taylor powered to gold in the 200-yard freestyle, touching first in 1:31.53 to lead the Longhorns in the event. Rafael Fente-Damers followed closely with a fourth-place finish in 1:31.75, while Jacon Wimberly added a seventh-place effort in 1:32.17 to give Texas three scorers in the championship final.
In the final event of the evening, Will Modglin, Nate Germonprez, Hubert Kos and Camden Taylor delivered a record-breaking performance in the 400-yard medley relay, touching in 2:57.64 to cap the night in dominant fashion. The time shattered the previous Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center record of 2:59.87, set by Arizona State and eclipsed Texas' program record of 2:58.95. The victory secured another gold medal for the Longhorns and provided a statement finish to day four of the SEC Championships.
Following day four, Texas holds first place with a team score of 813.5.
The 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships continue Friday, Feb. 20, with prelims in the 200-yard breaststroke, 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. The men's platform prelims are set for 11 a.m. CT, followed by the consolation final.
