The Longhorns beat Boise State, 10-0 (five innings), and routed Santa Clara, 10-2, on the second day of the DeMarini Invitational.

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 3 Texas Softball (13-1) stretched its win streak to 11-consecutive games following a Saturday sweep of Boise State and Santa Clara at the DeMarini Invitational. Texas began the day with a 10-0 (five innings) victory over the Boise State Broncos at Stanford Softball Stadium before beating Santa Clara Broncos, 10-2, at Santa Clara Softball Stadium in the nightcap.

The Longhorns are 4-0 at the DeMarini Invitational while enhancing their overall record to 13-1. Texas has five ranked wins this season, including a pair vs. No. 10 Stanford and No. 16 Arizona at the DeMarini Invitational on Feb. 20.

Between Saturday's two games, Texas outscored its opponents 20-2. Texas recorded its sixth run-rule victory of the season in its win against Boise State.

Game 1

No. 3 Texas commenced Saturday with a commanding 10-0, five-inning win against Boise State at Stanford Softball Stadium.

Senior RHP Citlaly Gutierrez blanked Boise State after tossing a complete-game, two-hit shutout to earn her third win of the season. Gutierrez struck out five and did not allow a walk across a season-high five frames. The Stamford, Texas, product also pitched two 1-2-3 innings.

The Longhorns outhit the Broncos at an 11-2 clip. Texas was 7-for-16 at the plate with runners on and hit 5-for-10 with RISP.

Texas was ignited offensively by junior center fielder Kayden Henry's 2-for-3 game that included a three RBI, a double and a walk. Freshman first baseman/pitcher Hannah Wells went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run.

Senior right fielder Ashton Maloney drove in two runs on a triple to right field. Senior catcher/first baseman Reese Atwood towered her seventh home run of the season – a solo shot – and reached via walk. Junior first baseman/catcher Katie Stewart launched her eighth home run of the season and third of the weekend on a solo shot.

Game 2

Texas ended the night with a 10-2 win against Santa Clara at Santa Clara Softball Stadium.

Sophomore LHP Brenlee Gonzales (1-0) was credited with her first victory on the year after throwing 3.2 innings of relief and curtailing Santa Clara to two hits and a run while punching out four and working around a walk. Sophomore RHP Cambria Salmon started her fifth game of the year and went 3.1 frames in the circle. Salmon surrendered one run on six hits while registering a strikeout.

Eight different Longhorns recorded a multi-hit performance, highlighted by Kayden Henry's 3-for-4 night at the dish with a double, triple and two stolen bases. Freshman third baseman/designated player MaTaia Lawson hammered in a team-high three RBI after connecting on three-run home run. Senior left fielder Kaiah Altmeyer finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Katie Stewart hit her ninth home run of the year and fourth of the weekend on a two-run blast. Reese Atwood went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored. Senior Kaydee Bennett compiled a 2-for-4 performance with an RBI and run scored. Freshmen Jaycie Nichols and Hannah Wells each posted two base hits.
