THE MATCHUP — For the ninth time in the last six years, Texas hosts Incarnate Word at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Longhorns boast an 11-1 mark against the Cardinals in the all-time series. Texas has won nine straight meetings over Incarnate Word.
SCORCHING START — The 2026 Longhorns are one of three Texas teams to begin 26-5 or better over the past 21 years. Last season, the Longhorns notched a 44-14 record, earning the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. In 2005, Texas finished with a 56-16 ledger, capturing its sixth national championship. Heading into the midweek, the Longhorns have outscored their opponents, 255-106. As of April 6, Texas has posted the country's fourth-best ERA (2.93) and seventh-best WHIP (1.15). Meanwhile, the Longhorns' .934 OPS is 21st in all of Division I Baseball.

Texas was also listed third by Perfect Game. Through four weekends of league action, the Longhorns are in second place in the SEC, trailing Georgia by one game. In the SEC's preseason poll voted on by the league's 16 head coaches, the Longhorns were picked second behind defending national champion LSU.
MASTERING MIDWEEKS — Texas is 5-2 in midweek games, registering three run-rule wins in those contests. Last season, the Longhorns went 9-2 in midweeks. Since 2020, Jim Schlossnagle's clubs have notched a 57-12 (.826) ledger in midweek games, winning 29 of the last 34 contests.
OWN THE DISCH — Since UFCU Disch-Falk Field opened in 1975, Texas has gone 1,679-429-3 (.796) at home thanks in large part to Longhorn Nation. Texas has averaged 7,253 fans per game at home, the fifth-highest mark in the country, highlighted by the second-largest regular season crowd with 0f 8,059 against No. 8 Oklahoma on March 28. Across the three-game series vs. the Sooners, the Longhorns welcomed 23,407 fans to UFCU Disch-Falk Field, the third-highest recorded attendance for a three-game set in the ballpark's history.
