AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2022)
Played in 45 games with 42 starts in left field…batted .300 with six doubles, one triple and seven home runs…finished with 29 RBI and 42 runs scored…was second on the team with 10 stolen bases on 11 attempts…went 3-for-5 with a run scored to help the Longhorns stay alive in the NCAA Super Regional at East Carolina (6/11)…went 2-for-4 with a runs scored against TCU (5/26) in the Big 12 Tournament…had a huge game against Kansas (5/20), going 3-for-5 with two homers, three RBI and two runs scored…went 2-for-5 with a double and a runs scored against Oklahoma (4/1…went 4-for-7 with a double against Texas Tech (3/26)…went 3-for-5 with two runs and four RBI against Incarnate Word (3/19)...hit a two run homer against Texas State (3/9)...went 2-for-3 with four runs and one RBI against Rice (2/20)…hit a triple in the season opener against Rice (2/18).
AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2021)
Played in 65 games with 61 starts, mostly in left field…batted .253 with seven doubles, two triples and four homers…drove in 27 runs and scored 42 runs…finished second on the team with 18 stolen bases on 22 attempts…finished the season with 27 infield hits, including 16 bunt singles…went 3-for-5 with three runs scored against UTRGV (3/16)…had a 12-game hitting streak in April, batting .365 with nine runs scored during the streak…went 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored in the regular-season finale against West Virginia (5/22)…hit a walk-off double to beat South Florida in the NCAA Super Regional (6/12)…smashed a three-run homer to help lead Texas to a win over Tennessee in the College World Series (6/22).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2020)
Started all 17 games of the shortened season, with 16 starts in left field and one at designated hitter...batted .288 with one double and one home run...finished a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen bases to lead the team...drove in 13 runs and scored 11...had four multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI games...had three stolen bases and two runs scored against Abilene Christian on March 11...produced a five-game hitting streak from March 1-8, going 9-of-20 with 10 RBI...had back-to-back two-hit games in the series against Cal State Fullerton...went 3-for-4 with four RBI against Arizona on March 4...had two RBI against Missouri on March 1…had a five-game hitting streak from Feb. 21-Feb. 28…went 2-for-3 with a run against Sam Houston State on Feb. 25…hit his first home run of the season against Boise State on Feb. 22…first hit of the season was at Rice on Feb. 15.
AS A FRESHMAN (2019)
Named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team and picked up All-Big 12 honorable mention recognition...Starting left fielder during true freshman season...led the Longhorns in hitting with a .310 batting average with eight doubles, three triples and two home runs...drove in 28 runs and scored 41 runs...finished second on the team with nine stolen bases...ended the season on a six-game hitting streak and finished the season with at least one hit in 13 of the last 14 games...went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored against Incarnate Word on May 14...went 2-for-4 at Kansas on May 4...had a big week at the plate from April 23-28, totaling nine hits in four games...went 2-for-5 with an RBI in the series finale against West Virginia on April 28...in the series opener against West Virginia on April 26, had a 4-for-4 game with two runs scored and one RBI…had two hits including a double on April 23 against Texas State…had back to back two RBI games against Oklahoma State on April 19 & 20…had a triple against Texas A&M on April 2…had back-to-back four hit games against TCU on March 23-24 and during the first game he had a triple, three RBI and three runs which helped him earn a Week 6 Big 12 Player of the Week award…went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double against Texas Southern on March 12…had an eight game hit streak from Feb. 24-March 8 which included back to back three hit games against UTSA on Feb. 27 and against LSU on March 1, a two hit game with two RBI, two runs, and two doubles against LSU on March 3 and another two hit game against UTRGV on March 5 which all helped him win the Week 2 Big 12 Newcomer of the week award…had two hits, three runs, and one RBI against Rice on Feb. 19…first career homerun on Feb. 17 at Louisiana…first career hit on Feb. 15 at Louisiana.
HIGH SCHOOL
Started and lettered in each of his four seasons at Calvary Christian under head coach Greg Olsen in Tampa…in 2017, was named to the MaxPreps All-American first team, the USA Today All-USA Florida Baseball first team, the Prep Baseball Report Florida High School All-State team, the Tampa Bay Times’ All-Tampa Bay Baseball first team, the TBT’s Pinellas County Player of the Year, the Florida Athletic Coaches’ Association 4A District 14 Player of the Year, and the Offensive MVP on the CCHS FHSAA Class 4A State Champion Warriors…as a sophomore, named to the TBT’s All-Tampa Bay Baseball third team and the TBT’s All-Pinellas County first team…picked up honorable mention honors his freshman year.
PERSONAL
Son of Dave and Julie Kennedy…has two older brothers, Ben and Nick, both of whom played baseball at Texas…Ben played from 2014-16 and Nick played from 2016-17 before he was drafted in the fifth round by the Colorado Rockies in the 2017 June Draft.
