Outdoor:
• Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the discus
• Did not land a legal throw at the meet
• Earned a spot in the discus competition at nationals by throwing a personal-best 188-0 (57.30m) and placing fifth at NCAA Regional meet
• Received his second all-league honor as the eighth-place finisher in the hammer (career-best 173-1/52.76m) at the Big 12 Championships
• Also finished ninth in the discus (166-3/50.68m) and 13th in the shot put (51-3.50/15.63m) at the league meet
• Placed fourth in the discus (179-10/54.81m) and ninth in the hammer (169-3/51.59m) at the Jim Click Shootout

• Earned a spot at the national meet with season-best throw of 187-11 (57.28m), which was good for ninth at the NCAA West Prelims
• Secured all-league honors with a seventh-place showing in the discus (178-10/54.52m) at the Big 12 Championships

• Garnered second place in the discus at the Penn Relays with a mark of 171-5 (52.26m)

Indoor/Outdoor: Redshirted both seasons
PRIOR TO TEXAS
• Posted an eighth-place finish at the state meet as a senior, throwing the shot put 52-5.75
• Took first in the shot put at the Region 1-5A Meet, throwing 58-9
• Won the shot put at the District 3-5A Meet with a throw of 55-9.5 and took third in the discus, posting a 149-1
• Threw 172-4 in the discus at Texas Relays, placing fifth and tossed the shot put 54-1.5 to place fourth
• Posted personal bests of 178-9 in the discus and 52-2 in the shot put to win both events at the Keith Gilbert Elk Relays to open his senior season outdoors
• Finished fifth in the discus at the 2009 Texas 5A state meet with a mark of 175-11
• Took second in the discus and fourth in the shot put at the region 1-5A meet
• Claimed the District 3-5A title in the discus and finished second in the shot put

• Parents are Oskar and Angie Jakobsson
• Has two siblings, Brianna and Luke
• Father, Oskar, competed for Iceland in the 1976 and ‘80 Olympics and was a seven-time All-American for Texas
• Graduated with degree in physical culture and sports with a strength and conditioning specialization
• Five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll (fall 2010; fall 2011; fall 2012; spring 2013; fall 2013)
