Outdoor:
• Named first-team All-American in the javelin with a seventh-place finish at NCAA Outdoors
• Named Academic All-Big 12
• Won the javelin five times throughout the season (UTSA Invitational, Texas Invitational, Michael Johnson Invitational, National Relay Championships and Big 12 Championships)
• Had a season-best throw of 74.18m/243-4 for a meet record at the UTSA Invitational
2016-17
Outdoor:
• Runner-up in javelin at Big 12 Championship with throw of 69.32m (227-5)
• Finished 18th at NCAA West Preliminary Rounds
• Won the javelin with a throw of 69.90m (229-4) at the Texas Invitational
2015-16

• Won the javelin with a throw of 70.86m (232-6) at the Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays
• Won the javelin at the Texas Invitational with a throw of 64.50m (211-7)
• Placed 2nd in the javelin with a throw of 66.63m (218-7) at the Michael Johnson Classic
• Placed 3rd in the javelin with a throw of 68.77m (225-7) at the Big 12 Championships

2013-14
Outdoor:
• Big 12 Conference champ in javelin with throw of 243-7, won by nearly 11 feet
• Finished 5th at NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with throw of 220-7 to advance to championship meet
• Threw javelin 211-4 to finish 18th at NCAA Championships
PRIOR TO TEXAS
• Multi-year national champion in javelin in his native Paraguay with a best toss of 72.14m (236-8) in 2013
• Ranked as high as 8th among the South American youth ranks (2010), 3rd as a junior (2012) and 8th among seniors (2013)
• Holds the Under-16 school record in the javelin (51.10m/167-8/) as well as in the 4x100m relay
• Pan American junior school javelin champion in 2010 with a throw of 61.29m (201-1) and qualified in the event on behalf of Paraguay for the South American Championships as a youth in 2010, a junior in 2011, among the U-23 ranks in 2012 and as an adult in 2013
• Competed for Sol de America club team under coach Claudio Escauriza
• Named Best Junior Athlete of the Year in 2011 with a top throw of 61.96m (203-2) that year
PERSONAL
• Son of Erica Dohmann and Edgar Jara
• Has two siblings, Gaspar Jara and Gustavo Jara
• Received Distinguished Student Award all four yeras of high school at Colegio Goethe
• Fluent in Spanish, German, Portugues and Paraguayan Guarani
• Graduated with degree in Economics and a minor in Statistics in May 2017.
