AS A SOPHOMORE (2017)
Led the Longhorns in HR’s (career-high six) and finished in a tie for second on the squad in RBIs (24) while hitting .253 overall over 48 games (31 starts) ... Managed five multi-RBI efforts in 2017 with a career-long six-game hitting streak stretching from Texas Tech (April 13) to Kansas (April 28) ... Registered a career-best streak of reaching base safely over 11 contests from April 13 at Texas Tech to May 5 at Baylor ... Hammered HR’s in consecutive wins over North Texas (April 26) and at Kansas (April 28) ... Broke a 1-1 tie at Texas Tech (April 13) with a clutch, two-RBI single in the top of the 14th to help lead the Horns past the Red Raiders in one of the longest games in program history ... Came off the bench to blast a solo HR as a pinch hitter during UT’s 4-0 blanking of McNeese State (March 22) ... Was remarkable at the plate during victories over Notre Dame, No. 20 Missouri and Bethune-Cookman to christen the Mary Nutter Classic, hitting a combined .556 (5-for-9) over the three contests with two HR’s and a team-best nine RBI, including her first career grand slam as part of a career-high five-RBI performance during the 10-3 triumph over Missouri (February 23) ... Blasted a three-run shot, scored twice and knocked in four in a 3-for-4 effort during the 9-1 victory over Bethune-Cookman (February 24) ... Was 2-for-3 with three RBIs in helping the Longhorns rout Maryland (February 11), 10-2 (6 inn.).

Batted .421 during her rookie season over 19 at-bats while earning playing time in 18 contests with two starts ... Texas’ most successful option coming off the bench by hitting ,462 with a team-best six pinch-hits ... Saw her first career NCAA Regional at-bat during the loss to #9 Louisiana-Lafayette (May 21) ... Was 1-for-1 with a run scored in a pinch hit at-bat during both the 6-0 win over Texas Southern (April 27) and the 15-2 (5 inn.) rout of Iowa State (May 6) ... Started at designated player at #12/9 Oklahoma during the series finale on April 16 ... Drew a walk in a pinch hit appearance against the nationally-ranked Sooners in the series opener on April 15 ... Made the most of her first career start by posting a career-high two hits, her first career triple and a career-high four RBIs during the 8-4 win over Texas Tech (April 10) ... BEFORE TEXAS
A two-sport athlete, Alcozer was a multiple-time letter winner in both softball and track and field at Belton High School in Belton, Texas ... On the diamond, the 5-6 outfielder was chosen to the 2015 Central Texas Preseason All-Centex Second Team, picked up a 2015 Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State First Team nod and was named 2015 first-team All-District 12-6A ... Posted a .437 average with 18 HR’s, 100 RBIs, 29 multi-hit and 25 multi-RBI games in her career... She was also a 2014 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State selection, an honorable mention 2014 TSWA All-State choice and as a three-time first-team All-District 8-5A honoree (2012, 2013, 2014) ... During her initial two high school softball seasons, she hit a combined .402 overall with 25 extra-base hits, including 10 HR’s, and knocked in 53 runs while registering a 1.294 OPS ... In track & field, Alcozer won a 2014 District 8-5A title in the discus (with a throw of 136’ 8”) and is a four-time regional qualifier (2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015) ... She placed third in the 2015 state finals in the shot put with a career-best and school-record-breaking toss (record was set in 1979) of 148’.

Full name is Bekah Jade Alcozer ... Born March 7, 1997, in Temple, Texas ... Daughter of Manuel and Rebecca Alcozer ... Has two siblings, Seth and Alik ... Won a national level Punt, Pass & Kick competition when she was in sixth grade, competing in the competitions from age 8-15 ... Alcozer made it to the Houston Texans Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championships all eight years she competed, winning four times while earning two berths to nationals ... Lists her most memorable moment in sports as catching the first pitch from her mom during her school’s breast cancer awareness game as her mother was then being treated for the illness ... Interested in majoring in exercise science at Texas in hopes of becoming a lawyer and later a federal court judge.
