In four seasons as a catcher and outfielder at California softball power Santiago High School under John Perez, Leahy batted .362 overall (129-for-356) over 126 career games with 127 runs scored, 51 extra-base hits, including a staggering 31 HR’s, 72 walks and 106 RBIs while totaling a .505 on-base percentage and a .682 slugging mark for a 1.188 OPS ... During her senior campaign, Leahy, a 2014 third team Cal-Hi Sports All-State selection, hit .376 with 31 tallies, 10 doubles, six HR’s and 23 RBIs ... As a junior and first team All-California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) choice, Leahy helped lead her squad on an unbeaten run to the 2013 CIF Division I Southern Section title (winning 8-2 over Norco to avenge a loss in the 2012 final) and a No. 19 final ranking in the 2013 MaxPreps National High School Softball Poll .. She earned first-team catcher honors on the 2013 Cal-Hi Sports All-State Softball Underclass Team in the process ... Leahy was chosen to the 2012 All-CIF Division I Southern Section First Team and to the 2012 MaxPreps Underclass All-American softball team as a sophomore after hitting a career-high .392 with 31 runs scored, 15 extra-base hits, including nine HR’s and 41 RBIs.
