No. 21 Baseball blanks Houston Baptist, 2-0

AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 21 Texas Longhorns sent six pitchers to the mound in a 2-0 shutout over the Houston Baptist Huskies on Tuesday evening at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
With the win, Texas (3-5) snapped a five-game losing streak heading into this weekend's Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park.
The six pitchers combined to scatter three hits and one walk while striking out 10 two earn the staff's second shutout of the season.
Austin Dicharry started the game and worked 2.0 innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Nathan Thornhill allowed an infield hit and fanned two in the third inning. John Curtiss worked a 1-2-3 fourth inning with one strikeout. Hoby Milner worked two innings, allowing one hit and one walk while fanning three. Parker French (1-0) earned the victory, retiring all six batters he faced including one via the strikeout. Corey Knebel struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning to pick up his third save of the season.
Texas scratched out both of their runs in the seventh inning. Jonathan Walsh hit a single up the middle to start the frame and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Brooks Marlow. Alex Silver drove a single through the left side to put runners at the corners. The Longhorns broke the scoring seal when Kevin Lusson pushed a squeeze bunt down the first baseline. Jacob Felts loaded the bases with a single through the right side and Jordan Etier gave Texas an insurance run with a sacrifice fly to leftfield.
Walsh and Tim Maitland paced the Texas offense with two hits apiece. Maitland went 2-for-3 with a double.
Dalton Schafer (0-1) went the distance for Houston Baptist (3-4), yielding two runs on seven hits and three walks over 8.0 innings.
Texas returns to action on Friday with a 7 p.m. contest against Rice at Minute Maid Park.
