A LOOK AT THE MATCHUP
• Texas leads the all-time series vs. Texas Tech 108-41, including a 56-16 mark in Austin.
• Last season, the Longhorns took two of three games against the Red Raiders in Lubbock (March 28-30), and also defeated Texas Tech in the opening game of the Big 12 tournament in Oklahoma City, 8-3.
A LOOK AT THE LONGHORNS
• After consecutive conference weekends on the road, Texas is in the midst of a five-game homestand at UFCU Disch-Falk Field where it holds a 16-7 record (6-3 in Big 12 play) on the season while posting a 2.05 ERA and .278 batting average.
• The Horns will recognize LHP Kirby Bellow, RHP Parker French, C Grant Martin, 2B Brooks Marlow, RHP Ty Marlow and RF Collin Shaw with Senior Day ceremonies on Sunday.
• Opponents are hitting just .209 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in 23 games and have a 4.90 ERA.
• The Longhorns are averaging 6.4 runs a game over their past eight contests. Texas holds an 11-3 record when scoring six or more runs this season. As a team, Texas is hitting .316 over the last eight games.
• Catcher/first baseman Tres Barrera enters the weekend on an eight-game hitting streak and is 12 of 30 (.400) in that stretch. Second baseman Brooks Marlow comes in on a six-game streak.
• Junior left fielder Ben Johnson leads the Big 12 in triples (7), and ranks second in total bases (107) and multi-hit games (22) and third in hits (68) and slugging percentage (.552). He has multilpe hits in three straight games.
• Marlow was charged with an error in the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday that snapped a streak of 277 2/3 innings without an error. The last miscue had come on March 8 at Stanford, and he is fielding .987 on the season.
• Of Texas' 22 losses, nine have come by one run, including a loss to TCU on Saturday (4/25). UT also has five losses by two runs and six in extra innings. In the last 19 games, the Horns have dropped four in extras and five by one run.
