Freshman forward Cyera Hintzen granted Texas an early lead at 8:23 with her second goal of 2016

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma (9-2-1, 2-0-1 Big 12 Conference) scored the equalizer with 4:23 left in regulation and the match-winner with just 29 seconds remaining in the first overtime to rally past Texas soccer (6-4-1, 0-1-1 Big 12 Conference) on Sunday afternoon in league action at the OU Soccer Stadium, 2-1 (OT).

Freshman forward Cyera Hintzen scored her second goal of the season at the 8:23 mark to grant the Longhorns an early lead. Unfortunately for the Burnt Orange & White, with time running short at 85:37, OU's Rasha Roberts tied things up before midfielder Lizzie Luallin eventually won it for the Sooners during "sudden victory" overtime on a score from inside the 18 at 99:31.

Oklahoma led in total shots by a 23-15 count, while Texas managed an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal and an 8-3 discrepancy in corner kicks.

Texas wasted little time making its offensive presence felt in the contest as a long pass up the left wing found sophomore forward Alexa Adams. The Lancaster, Calif., worked hard to beat her marker and fired two quick shots in the opening minute, the first of which forced a save by OU keeper Kassidie Stade.

Solid work by the Horns paid off at 8:23 as a long pass ahead by sophomore midfielder Kayra Dollas dropped in front of Hintzen and OU defender Madeline Brem. With UT's freshman forward battling hard for the ball, Brem attempted to clear the ball back upfield. Her blast ricocheted off Hintzen's right foot and rolled quickly past Stade into the twine to grant Texas an early 1-0 lead.

The Sooners managed a better spell of pressure after the Longhorns goal, as forward Madison Saliba registered OU's initial shot of the contest with a high effort from out front in the 11th minute.

The Horns soon swung the offensive momentum right back their way with sophomore midfielder Kayra Dollas heading two shots, one that was blocked and one on frame, at 16:47 and 20:59, respectively.

A foul in a dangerous spot just outside the right edge of the 18 got OU in some business during the 33rd minute. On a feed into the middle, midfielder Tori Bowman broke into some space in front of a crowd out front, but her running header traveled well high of frame.

Junior forward Olivia Brook troubled Stade between the pipes during the 38th minute as her quick, left-footed effort from 16 yards out forced a diving stop from the Sooner net minder.

Texas senior goalkeeper Paige Brown was forced into action not long after, having to drop straight down to corral a rolling shot from Oklahoma defender Rachel Ressler at 42:50.

The best chance for the Sooners over the opening 45 minutes occurred right at the final buzzer as a cross from the right side found Rasha Roberts above the crowd inside the 18. Unfortunately for Oklahoma, her headed try ventured just over the bar to send the teams to their locker rooms with UT in front, 1-0.

Out of the halftime break, each team made forays into the offensive third but couldn't get off any shots until the 53rd minute when an Angela Boyle effort was blocked by the Texas "D."

The Longhorns worked to earn a trio of corner kicks at 53:10, 55:32 and 60:11 but couldn't manage a shot off any of them as the Sooners continuously cleared the ball out of any potential trouble.

Following some Oklahoma pressure during the 65th minute, Texas quickly raced down pitch on a three-on-three counter with senior forward Jasmine Hart forcing a Stade stop from the right wing on an 18-yard effort.

A cross from the right side resulted in another dangerous OU scoring chance for Roberts at 70:07 as her volleyed attempt from nine yards out rolled just wide right. Off an ensuing corner, a lengthy shot from Ressler was caught in a crowd by Brown to end the threat.

Just over two minutes later, the Longhorns got some assistance from the Sooners in remaining in front on the scoreboard. A shot from just inside the top of the 18 by forward Liz Keester appeared to be heading into net only to carom off an OU player, that was standing in the goal mouth, before being cleared.

After coming so close on a pair of occasions, Roberts finally found Oklahoma's equalizer at 85:04, taking a feed, turning and firing quickly. Her effort from 25 yards out deflected off the fingertips of a diving Brown before just sneaking into the right edge of the twine to dead-lock things at 1-1.

OU nearly swiped the match late in regulation only to watch as Brown made two terrific stops on back-to-back shots from Roberts to preserve the tie and send the teams to overtime.

Just 1:31 in the initial OT, Texas got a great cross in from the left wing by Hart. Battling her marker inside the 18, Hintzen leapt and got the slightest touch of her head on the ball but had her shot ricochet straight out to the right.

The Longhorns continue to press strongly in the offensive third, earning a pair of corners while Dollas forced a Stade stop near the left post (93:16).

The Sooners earned a free kick in a dangerous spot just outside the top of the 18 during the 97th minute, but had shots from Saliba and Keester get blocked and venture wide, respectively.

Finally, with just 29 seconds remaining in the first OT, a one-touch pass from Keester on the left side into the middle dropped to midfielder Lizzie Luallin in space. She controlled the ball quickly and drove a shot past Brown to finalize Oklahoma's 2-1 (OT) win.
