Blair Henley pitched seven solid innings in loss.
AUSTIN, Texas – Despite seven solid innings by starting pitcher Blair Henley, No. 12 Texas lost 3-0 to No. 11 Texas Tech Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
In front of the largest regular-season crowd in UFCU Disch-Falk Field history, Henley took the Longhorns into the eighth inning of a scoreless game. The junior struck out six batters and allowed just three hits.
The Red Raiders finally broke the deadlock in the eighth inning, starting with back-to-back walks by Henley.
Cole Quintanilla replaced Henley out of the bullpen and got the first out without any damage done. But a sacrifice fly and a one-out two-run single gave Texas Tech the 3-0 advantage.
Texas loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on walks by Ford, Kennedy and Zubia but the Longhorns were unable to get a run across.
