No. 7 Baseball falls to No. 23 TCU, 7-5

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 7 Texas Baseball scored a run in the ninth but came up just short, 7-5, to No. 23 TCU on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Longhorns (23-10, 4-4) scored three of their five runs with homers, including two by Dylan Campbell.
Campbell finished the game 2-for-2 with two home runs, a sacrifice fly and four RBI. Murphy Stehly went 1-for-4 with a home run of his own, while Trey Faltine went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
TCU opened the game with three runs on three hits and two errors in the top of the first inning. Stehly came back to get the Longhorns on the board with a solo home run, his 10th of the season.
TCU scored three more runs in the second on a three-run homer to take a 6-1 lead. The Longhorns again got one run back on a sacrifice fly by Campbell.
The Longhorns added two more runs in the fourth after Mitchell Daly walked and Campbell hit a two-run homer to cut the TCU lead, 6-4.
Campbell scored the last run of the game with a solo homer, bringing the final score to 7-5.
Relievers Aaron Nixon, Marcus Olivarez, Luke Harrison combined to pitch 4 1/3 scoreless innings to keep the Longhorns in the game. TCU's final run came in the top of the ninth off of Jared Southard, who pitched 2 2/3 innings.
Texas will go for the series win against TCU on Sunday at 12 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
