The Longhorns scored four runs in the fifth to clinch the series win over the Hoosiers.

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball secured its first series win of the season with a 5-2 win over Indiana on Saturday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (3-3) will go for the series sweep over the Hoosiers on Sunday at noon.

Zane Morehouse made his second start of the season and pitched five innings, allowing just one run on one hit. The only run he allowed was from some self-inflicted damage in the fifth. He finished with four strikeouts and two walks.

DJ Burke closed out the final 2.2 innings to earn his first career save for the Longhorns. He struck out three batters and allowed just one hit.

Texas took a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the bottom of the first. Eric Kennedy reached third base on a dropped deep fly ball and scored on a sacrifice fly by Porter Brown.

Kennedy finished the game 1-for-4 with two runs scored and Brown was 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Indiana tied the game up in the top of the fifth on three free passes in the inning. Morehouse was able to limit the damage though with a double play to end the inning.

The Longhorns took the lead right back with four runs in the bottom of the fifth to go up 5-1. Tanner Carlson walked, Kennedy legged out a bunt single and Dylan Campbell walked to load the bases.

Brown grabbed the lead with an infield single that was thrown away, allowing two runs to score. Garret Guillemette followed with another infield single to drive in Campbell before an error allowed Brown to score the fourth run of the inning.

The Hoosiers got a run back on three walks in the top of the sixth to trim the Texas lead to 5-2. David Shaw got the Longhorns out of the jam in the sixth and pitched one scoreless inning.
