Baseball hammers six homers in win over UTA

The Longhorns tied a program record with six home runs en route to an 11-0 win over the Mavericks.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball hammered a program-record tying six home runs and rolled to an 11-0 win over UT Arlington on Tuesday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (25-17, 11-7) got a pair of homers by Max Belyeu and one each from Porter Brown, Jalin Flores, Jared Thomas and Will Gasparino. This is the fifth time a Texas team has hit six homers in a game and the first since April 25, 1998 at Missouri.
Belyeu had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with the two homers, three RBI and two runs scored. Flores also finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Thomas, Peyton Powell and Brown all had two hits apiece.
Charlie Hurley got the start and pitched four shutout innings to pick up his third win of the season. He allowed just one hit and struck out five batters.
Out of the bullpen, Andre Duplantier II and Easton Tumis each threw two scoreless innings and Heston Tole finished off the game with a scoreless ninth inning.
Belyeu launched the Longhorns into an early lead with a two-run homer in the first inning. Powell worked a two-out walk before Belyeu's blast.
Texas tacked on a run in the second inning, doing more damage with two outs. Dee Kennedy worked a walk and Jared Thomas hit a single before Jalin Flores drove in a run with an RBI single to center to make the score 3-0.
The Longhorns hit two more home runs in the third inning, as Belyeu blasted his second homer of the game and Brown hit another solo shot to make the score 5-0.
Flores hit the Longhorns' fourth homer of the game in the fourth inning and Thomas went deep in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 8-0.
Gasparino hit the Texas record-tying sixth home run in the seventh inning, a mammoth solo shot over the scoreboard in left-center field.
The Longhorns finished the scoring in the eighth with two more runs on a two-run double by Casey Borba.
Texas heads on the road this weekend for a three-game weekend series against Oklahoma starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
