The Longhorns picked up the series win with a 12-10 win in seven innings on Sunday.
NORMAN, Okla. – Texas Baseball clinched a road series win with a weather-shortened 12-10 win over No. 18 Oklahoma at L. Dale Mitchell Park on Sunday.
The Longhorns (27-18, 13-8) hit six home runs in a game for the second time this week to tie the program record again. This is now the sixth time a Texas team has hit six homers in a game and prior to this week the last time it happened was April 25, 1998 at Missouri.
Texas took a 12-10 lead into the eighth inning before a lightning delay halted the game and it was unable to be resumed.
Max Belyeu went 4-for-4 with two of the six home runs to go with three RBI and three runs scored. Peyton Powell, Casey Borba, Rylan Galvan and Will Gasparino also homered in the game.
Cade O'Hara picked up the win in relief with 2 2/3 innings pitched, while Andre Duplantier II recorded his third save of the season.
Powell blasted the Longhorns into an early lead with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. In similar fashion to the first game of the doubleheader, Oklahoma had an answer in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to 2-1.
Gasparino hit the Longhorns' second two-run homer in as many innings to extend the lead to 4-1 in the second.
The Sooners loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the second but starter Lebarron Johnson Jr. was able to get out of the jam without any runs coming across.
Borba made it three-straight innings with a Texas two-run homer to grow the lead to 6-1 in the third inning.
Oklahoma cut the lead to 6-5 with a four-run bottom of the third, doing all of the damage with two outs in the inning.
Belyeu hit the Longhorns fourth two-run homer of the game in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 8-5.
The Sooners trimmed the lead back to one run with a two-run homer of their own in the bottom of the fifth.
Rylan Galvan hit Texas' fifth two-run home run of the game in the top of the sixth inning. The Longhorns also got another run across after Dee Kennedy singled, stole second and scored on an RBI double by Jalin Flores to make the lead 11-7.
Oklahoma scratched out another run in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 11-8 but the Longhorns had a quick answer in the seventh.
Belyeu homered for the second time in the game in the seventh inning to up the Longhorns' lead to 12-8.
The Sooners got two runs back in the bottom half to trim the Texas lead down to 12-10 before Duplantier came in to get out of the jam.
