Why Texas?
“UT is a great academic school in an amazing city, and I always felt drawn to Texas. Then, when I started rowing competitively, what better place to go challenge myself at the next level than to row for the best. I immediately saw how the coaches and the rowers have an amazing spirit, and I wanted to be a part of it. Hook ‘Em!”
What led you to pursue rowing and what do you love most about it?
“After having tried so many other sports, I decided to give rowing a try. There I found my passion that I did not want to end once I was finished with high school. I knew I wanted to pursue rowing at the collegiate level because it is such an amazing sport where strength and technique come together so perfectly. I also love the fact that in rowing, not only do you have to challenge yourself every day as an individual, but you also have to work with and be in sync with your team and put everything you can into every stroke for them. The bond that I was able to build with my teammates and the appreciation of team success is something I absolutely love and had to continue to pursue in college.”
