A LOOK AT THE JAYHAWKS—Kansas walked off with a 7-6 win on Wednesday night at home vs. Nebraska-Omaha…last weekend, the Jayhawks took the Friday night game 4-3 over TCU before dropping Saturday and Sunday's games by a combined 22-6…KU's offense is led by junior Michael Tinsley's .345 batting average…the Jayhawks have hit just 8 homers on the season…the Kansas staff is head by Ben Krauth who has compiled a 2.29 ERA with 2 complete games.
NEXT UP—Texas hosts UT Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. before heading to Texas Tech for a weekend series.
ANOTHER HALL HONOR—On March 31, the National College Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Augie Garrido will be a part of the 2016 induction class as the winningest coach in collegiate baseball history…on January 8, he was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame, giving the Longhorns program four ABCA Hall of Famers, as he joined Billy Disch (inducted in 1966), Bibb Falk (1968) and Cliff Gustafson (1992).
THE DUKE—On April 2 at Oklahoma, left-handed reliever Travis Duke made his 100th career appearance…he has made four apps since and currently sits at No. 5 among Texas pitchers all-time behind Huston Street (105), Randy Boone (106), J. Brent Cox (106) and Austin Wood (118).
GURWITZ WEEKEND—Zane Gurwitz went 7-for-12 (.583)over the weekend against K-State…he ripped a double, triple and his first homer of the year…had a four-RBI game on Saturday that included a two-out, bases-loaded triple…overall on the season, Gurwitz is now 4-for-4 with the bases loaded and 14-for-39 (.359) with runners in scoring position.

OUTHIT 'EM—Texas has outhit its opponent 19 times this season, going 12-7 in those games…Texas is 1-11 when outhit by its opponent, picking up its only win on April 2 at OU.
MR. CONSISTENCY—Senior LHP Ty Culbreth has thrown at least 6 innings in all but one start this season…has just two starts that are not considered "quality starts" (6-IP, 3-ER or fewer)…the first came in his first outing of the season when he went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run…the second non-quality start came in his win over K-State when he went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs…his outing on February 27 vs. Stanford (8-IP, 2-H, 0-R/ER, 0-BB, 12-SO) earned him Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors…on the season, Culbreth has struck out 44 batters and walked just 8…Texas is 6-2 in his seven starts.
CORNERSTONES—Juniors Tres Barrera and Zane Gurwitz are the only two Longhorns to start every game for Texas…Barrera has made starts at catcher (13), third base (12), designated hitter (6) and first base (2) while Gurwitz has started in centerfield (20) and at second base (13)…Kody Clemens has played in all 33, with 32 starts.
