Selected with the first pick of the third round by the Detroit Tigers in the 2018 MLB Draft…signed with the Tigers on June 25, 2108…was named the 2018 Brooks Kieschnick Team MVP and the 2018 Keith Moreland Offensive Player of the Year by head coach David Pierce and staff.
AS A JUNIOR (2018)
Named ABCA Co-Player of the Year and a unanimous first team All-American second baseman by Baseball America, Perfect Game/Rawlings, the ABCA, D1Baseball.com, Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA…became the first Longhorns' first Big 12 Conference Player of the Year since 2007…named a USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award finalist and a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy…on the year, finished with a line of .351/.444/.726 to go along with 24 homers and 72 RBI…his 24 home runs ranked second in the country, one behind the leader, and are the second-most in a single-season in Texas Baseball history behind Kyle Russell's 28 in 2007… added 15 doubles, three triples, and five stolen bases on the year…hit .419/.536/1.000 in the Longhorns' eight NCAA tournament games, leading Texas to the College World Series and hit safely in all eight contests…hit a home run in each game of the NCAA Super Regional against Tennessee Tech and drove in four runs while going 5-for-8 with a double, five walks and no strikeouts…was the 2018 Austin Regional Most Outstanding Player after hitting .429/.467/1.000 with two homers and seven RBI in three games…in game two of the regional, went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI against Texas A&M…on May 17 vs. TCU, hit a walk-off two-run homer to give Texas the win…homered the very next day (May 18 vs. TCU) to give Texas the lead, eventually giving the Longhorns their first Big 12 Conference championship since 2011…that effort against TCU earned him Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for the second time…from May 4-6 at then No. 9 Texas Tech, Clemens went 6-for-14 with three homers to hand the Red Raiders their only home series loss of the year…on April 17 vs. UTRGV, hit his second grand slam of the season and drove in a career-high six runs…from April 13-14 at then-No. 16 Oklahoma, went 5-for-9 with two homers to give Texas the series win…his homer on Saturday tied the game…went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI on the road against Texas A&M on April 10…on April 2, hit a grand slam on the road at Texas A&M Corpus Christi at Whataburger Field…named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week on March 19 after compiling a .316/.364/.789 line with seven RBI for the week…hit his career-high sixth home run on March 18 vs. Kansas…homered on both Saturday and Sunday vs. Kansas, going 4-for-11 with two homers and six RBI on the weekend…opened the season with a 13-game hitting streak…hit .442/.579/.791 during the streak with four homers, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored to go along with 14 walks and just three strikeouts…homered in both games of the doubleheader on March 3 vs. Northwestern…hit his first home run of the season on Feb 24 at LSU…named to the 2017 Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017)
Was limited to DH duties for most of the season following August Tommy John surgery…appeared in 54 games with 47 starts…made 46 starts at DH and one at second base…added 5 homers on the year, the last of which came on May 7 at TCU…also had a season-high three hits in the game…on April 8 vs. Oklahoma, went 2-for-4 with a home run…homered in the same game as his brother, Kacy, for the second straight April 8th (also April 8, 2016 at Kansas State)…also homered on March 26 vs. K-State, March 21 at Texas State, and hit his first long ball of the year on Feb 17 vs. Rice.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016)
Hit a walk-off home run on May 28 vs. TCU in a Big 12 Baseball Championship elimination game … went 3-for-4 with a run scored in the regular season finale win over Baylor (May 21) … tied his career high in RBIs (3) with the two doubles he hit in the second of a three game series at West Virginia (May 7) … got on base 17 games in a row from the finale of the TCU series (March 26) through the single-game series against Texas State (April 26) … had an on base percentage of .377 over that streak and scored 15 times in total … drove in a run off of his second triple of the year and crossed home plate a career high three times, in the finale of a weekend series at Texas Tech (April 24) … … hit 2-for-5 in a win over UT Rio Grande Valley (April 19) driving in two runs and scoring one of his own … went 3-for-8 (.375) and crossed home plate three times, all while adding career homers number two and three in the first two games of a three-game Kansas State series (April 8-10) … set a career high after drawing a walk in three of his five plate appearances in the second of a three-game Oklahoma series (April 2) … hit 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in the series finale against TCU (March 26) … had an eleven-game on-base streak from March 6-24 with games against California, Sam Houston State, UCLA, Texas A&M, Tulane, and TCU … during that on-base streak he had an eight-game hitting streak (March 6-19) where he hit 12-for-33 (.364) and added eight RBIs to his season total … went 4-for-12 (.333) and crossed home plate twice in a three-game series at UCLA (March 11-13) … hit his fist career home run in a win over Sam Houston State (March 8) … went 3-for-5 in that game against the Bearkats on his way to the first multi-RBI game of his career (3) … reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances in a win at Texas State (March 1), scoring two runs, drawing two walks and hitting 2-for-3 with the first triple of his career … had his first career start, hit, and stolen base in the Longhorns opening game of the season against UNLV (Feb. 19) … started the season off right in that three-game UNLV series (Feb. 19-21) with a three-game hit streak, going 4-for-13 (.308) and adding his first career RBI in the second game against the Rebels.

A three-year starter who has played shortstop, second base and center field … 2013 and 2014 Perfect Game Underclass High Honorable Mention All-America … a first team all-district selection as a utility player in 2013.
PERSONAL
Son of Roger and Debbie … has three brothers, Koby, Kory and Kacy … Kacy is also a Longhorn baseball alumni… father played 24 seasons of Major League Baseball and was an 11-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion … he won seven Cy Young Awards during his career, the most of any pitcher in history and was a member of the 1983 UT National Championship team.
