No. 5 Arkansas downs Baseball, 13-4, on Tuesday night

The Longhorns hit three home runs, including two off the bat of DJ Petrinsky, but the Razorbacks' offense proved too much to overcome.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—In an early hole thanks to a seven-run third inning, Texas Baseball (9-8) was outslugged by No. 5 Arkansas (12-4) in Tuesday night's 13-4 loss at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.
After the sides traded zeroes over the first two innings, the Razorbacks got to starter Beau Ridgeway in the third. Arkansas used four walks and four hits off a combination of Ridgeway and Bryce Elder to put up a seven-spot in the inning and pull away from the Longhorns.
Zach Zubia put Texas on the board the following half inning when he launched his fourth long ball of the season over the right-center field wall to make it 7-1. In the top of the fifth, catcher DJ Petrinsky followed suit with a solo homer of this own, marking the first big fly of his Texas career.
With their lead cut to 7-2, Arkansas responded for a four-run frame. After the Razorbacks plated one off Chris Fearon, Casey Martin hit a three-run home run off Matthew Whelan that hit off the pole in left field to expand the Arkansas lead to 11-2.
Petrinsky went deep again in the bottom of the seventh—this time with a two-run shot to right to make it 11-4, but once again, Arkansas answered to regain their nine-run lead and seal the Tuesday night win.
The two teams meet again tomorrow at 4 p.m. for the conclusion of the two-game set. Right-hander Nico O'Donnell will take the hill for Texas.
