The Longhorns scored nine runs on 15 hits, including a pair of homers by Trey Faltine.

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 8 Texas Baseball lost to Texas A&M, 12-9, on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Longhorns (19-8) will look to rebound against rival Oklahoma this weekend at Globe Life Field in Arlington.

Trey Faltine went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. Douglas Hodo III went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The Aggies were quick to get on the board with an RBI double and RBI single in the first. The Longhorns came back with two runs of their own to tie up the game on an RBI single by Ivan Melendez to score Eric Kennedy, and then a single by Silas Ardoin scored Melendez.

Texas took its only lead of the game on a sacrifice fly by Hodo to score Mitchell Daly in the second. Murphy Stehly scored on an RBI single by Skyler Messinger in the third to tie the game, 4-4.

After Texas A&M scored four runs in the top of the fourth, Faltine hit a two-run homer to cut the lead to 8-6.

The Aggies added one more run to the lead in the sixth and tacked on three more in the eighth to go up 12-6.

The Longhorns tried to chip away with two runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth on Faltine's 10^th homer of the season.

Justin Eckhardt started the game with three innings pitched, struck out four batters and allowed four runs on four hits. Relief pitcher Jared Southard came out of the bullpen to throw two innings giving up four runs and striking out three batters.

Luke Harrison and Aaron Nixon both pitched scoreless innings of relief out of the bullpen.
