AS A FRESHMAN (2016)
Made 11 starts and appeared in 22 games on the season … earned his first career start at the DH position in a win against TCU (March 25) … had the first multiple RBI game of his career after batting in two runs against UTSA (March 22) … got his first career start (RF) and first career RBI while going 2-for-4 against California (March 4) … went 2-for-3 after subbing in the second of a four-game series against Stanford (Feb. 26) … made his first appearance for the Longhorns during the second game of the season against UNLV (Feb. 19) as a pinch hitter.
HIGH SCHOOL
A three-year starter in the outfield with a .349 career batting average, 85 runs, 54 stolen bases and 45 RBIs … as a junior, hit .400 with .491 on-base percentage, scoring 29 runs and stealing 24 bases … 2014 Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention All-America … three-time all-district selection and third team all-state selection as a junior … Golden Circle Defensive Player of the Year as a junior … a member of the National Honor Society.

Son of Billy and Lori … has a sister, Abby … his dad was an outfielder at Texas A&M and a team captain of the 1993 College World Series squad … his grandfather, David Smith, played football at SMU (1967-68).
