Lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Brooks Marlow for a walk-off win vs. West Virginia on March 13 … made his first career collegiate appearance in a start at designated hitter against Rice on February 14 (game two) ... named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2014 fall semester.

Served a redshirt season ... named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2013 fall semester and 2014 spring semester.
HIGH SCHOOL
A two-year starter for coach Armando Sedeno at Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas … two-time all-district member in 2012 and 2013 as well as third team all-state his senior year at second base … also named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches All-Star Team in 2013 … posted a .384 batting average along with 20 stolen bases and two home runs his senior season … four-year honor roll member … named Academic All-State and made the All-Academic District Team his senior year.
PERSONAL
Parents are Doug and Karen Macalla … has two older brothers, John and Clayton … both older brothers have Texas ties as John attended UT from 2010 to 2012, and Clayton graduated from UT in 2012 … was accepted into the Cockrell School of Engineering and is pursuing a degree in petroleum engineering.
